A reminder of peace, made by hand.
At the center of this original Jewish papercut is שלום (Shalom), the Hebrew word for peace. Surrounding it is an intricate Star of David, filled with curling scrolls, delicate teardrops, and floral motifs that radiate outward in a symmetrical, mandala-like pattern.
I created this design because I find its pattern centering and calming. My hope is that it brings a similar sense of peace to the person who lives with it.
Cut by hand from white archival-quality paper and mounted on a dark blue background, this piece brings together a beloved Jewish symbol and ornamental detail. It makes a meaningful addition to a Jewish home, a personal meditation space, or a collection of contemporary Judaica.
It also makes a thoughtful gift for a housewarming, wedding, anniversary, or someone who would appreciate a reminder of peace.
